NVRA (National Voting Registration Act) : Created to increase the number of eligible citizens who register to vote, tries to keep integrity of the polls, ensure that only eligible citizens register
EAC (US Election Assistance Commission) : Responsible for creating the federal voting registration form; can’t take any actions that impose regulations on other states
ACORN ( Association of Community Organizations for Reform) : Voter registration organization; accused of submitting “garbage” voter registration forms and thus eliciting votes from non citizens
Election Clause: Empowers both the federal and state governments to enact laws governing the mechanics of federal elections.
Proposition 200: Enacted in 2006 by Arizona; permits Arizona to use a variety of options to satisfy evidence of citizenship requirement
